In Hambis Printmaking Museum visitors get to know the history of printmaking, the techniques and materials involved, the etching presses and, naturally, prints and their creators. More than 200 prints are exhibited dating back in the 16th century and onwards. Part of the Museum projects more than 70 pieces of prints made by Greek Cypriot, Turkish Cypriot, Greek and Turkish creators.
Special windows display old and contemporary books with genuine prints, tools used in all printmaking techniques, engraved plates depicting various printmaking techniques, photographic and other items.
The Museum is open throughout the year from Wednesday to Sunday.
Opening times:
April – October: 10.00 – 13.00 & 16.00 – 18.00 hrs.
November – March:10.00 – 13.00 & 15.00 – 17.00 hrs.
As part of the permanent efforts of Hambis to promote the art of printmaking, Hambis School of Printmaking offers lessons of printmaking. Special workshops are organised at Hambis Printmaking Centre. All throughout August the school offers free lessons in the memory of the great Greek printmaker, A. Tassos, at the “Teachers’ House” of Anoyira.
“Hambis Printmaking School-Museum” organises also exhibitions and lectures, at Hambis Printmaking Centre and at Anoyira, and a Documentary and Animation Festival at the central square of Anoyira.
