The School
Hambis Printmaking School has been operating in Platanisteia (Limassol) since 1995. All throughout August the school offers free lessons in the memory of the great Greek printmaker A. Tassos. The school at Platanisteia comprises workshops with three etching presses, exhibition rooms and two gardens with greenery and until now it has educated hundreds of students.
Platanisteia is a small traditional stone-built village up to the hills north of Pissouri village. It is fifteen minutes away from the sea.
From August 2011(03/08-26/08) the school is extended in ‘The House of The Teachers’ at Anogyra village.
A lot of events are organised every year by Hambis Printmaking School: Documentary and Cartoon Festival, Theatre Performances, Concerts, Poetry Nights, Lectures, Printmaking and general Art Exhibitions. Awards are also given every August to new printmakers who attend the lessons. The main purpose of the awards is the encouragement of new printmakers. The sponsor of the annual awards is the Hellenic Bank.
All the events of Hambis Printmaking School for August 2011 will take place at Anogyra village (for more details look at the Programme of the School).
The School has been offering lessons for various printmaking techniques since 2008. The lessons are offered from visitor- teachers both Cypriot and Foreigners. During spring and Autumn Special Workshops will take place.

The school of my teacher Hambis is above all a school of life. A school of offer and dedication emanating from the never ending love of Hambis in printmaking and from his ever lasting gratefulness to the exquisite printmaker, Tassos.
